About West Slope Farm & Ranch Delta

Our Story

At West Slope Farm and Ranch, our roots run as deep as the soil we help you cultivate. While our family-owned business has been serving Western Colorado’s agricultural community since 1974, our Delta location carries a heritage that stretches back over a century. We are proud custodians of the historic Delta Elevator, a landmark facility located at 551 West 5th Street. Originally constructed around 1918, this enduring structure stands as a testament to Delta County’s rich agricultural boom, hailing from an era when the region was a powerhouse for potato and bean growers.

For over forty years, this facility served the community as a conventional feed mill, acting as a vital hub for local producers. In 2019, the site underwent a significant revitalization when it was purchased by new owners. Recognizing its potential, they breathed new life into the historic elevator, transitioning it from a commodity-focused mill into a modern, community-centered operation with a focus on value-added, non-GMO, and locally sourced feeds. Today, as West Slope Farm and Ranch, we honor that legacy of adaptation and resilience. We have merged our decades of ranching experience with the elevator’s historic foundation, ensuring that this century-old landmark continues to stand tall—not just as a piece of history, but as a thriving partner for today’s farmers and ranchers.
